Villingen-Schwenningen is a city located in Germany in the southwest of the Land of Baden-Württemberg. With around 81,000 inhabitants, the municipality is the largest in the Black Forest-Baar district. The particularity of the city lies in the fact that it consists of two entities corresponding to two formerly independent towns, namely Villingen and Schwenningen. The two former municipalities merged in 1972 to become Villingen-Schwenningen.
