Ever wondered how to change the coolant on a 1956 Bedfords RLHZ Green Goddess Fire Engine? Changing the coolant on this 64-year-old fire engine should have been easy. Flip the drain tap, take the radiator cover off and... Needless to say, this was not a quick job. Welcome to the first episode of the restoration series. Took me over 4 hours of footage to finally clear the blockage and locate the right taps. The old coolant was green and had visible chunks of rust in it; could it be as old as the engine itself!? After taking her out for a spin, I checked the engine temp and she is definitely staying cool, and coolant is now draining from the plug so the blockage is clear. This Bedfords RLHZ or Green Goddess is named Maddy. This fire engine sat outside in a yard for four years before coming to me to be restored. Follow my journey by subscribing. I learn something new in every video and make countless mistakes so it's entertainment for the whole family. P.S I have two of these fire engines...
