Parramatta Metro Station Update | Sydney Metro West Project 2022 | The Demolition Stage!

In this Parramatta Metro Station Update video, I will reveal the demolition work that is currently taking place to make way for this key Sydney Metro West Station. I start with the buildings on Macquarie Street. These are primarily office and retail buildings, but also include the Heritage Listed Kio Ora building, which is also known as Houison's Cottage. Find out if this building will stay or be demolished. I then cover the demolition of the Parramatta City Centre Car Park that runs along Macquarie Lane and Horwood Place. If you're a public transport advocate, you'll enjoy this bit! You'll then see the demolition of the Parramall Shopping Centre which ran along Horwood Place and George Street. Luckily, I caught it all on film before demolition work started, so you can remember it forever! Although I never visited the Parramall Shopping Centre, I was a little sad to see it go. I'll briefly cover the Roxy Theatre and how the Parramatta Metro Station might influence its future. I then cover the buildings been demolished on George Street. These include the Crunch Fitness Building, but not IGA or the heritage listed victorian sandstone building at 45 George Street. You'll also see what is staying and going on Church Street. I then cover the Greenway Plaza which is another shopping mall that is being demolished. You'll see the shops that used to be on the outside of Greenway Plaza, and a quick peek inside as well. This building was still standing in April 2022, but probably won't be for much longer. In this video, I also reveal the confirmed station entrance which will be on the new Civic Link path that will replace part of Horwood Place. This new Civic Link path will link the Parramatta Sydney Trains station, with the new Parramatta Metro Station and then continue to the Parramatta River. The location of a second entrance to Parramatta Metro Station is still being decided. In this video, I reveal where I think it might be and why.
