Follow Mac Danzig on twitter - / macdanzigmma Bananiac sat down and talked with the MMA/UFC veteran fighter Mac Danzig about what a typical day looked like for him, diet and training wise. Mac is on a raw vegan, 801010, fruitarian diet which means the majority of his calories are coming from sweet fruits. The diet is very low in fat and high in carbs which allows him to train smart. Bananas & grapes are Mac's main staples, as they are available all year-round. Mac likes to start off his day by eating large papaya every morning. Although Mac loves eating most fruits, he wasn't a big fan of the durian; in my opinion it probably wasn't a good durian (EVERYONE LOVES DURIAN!). At least every other day, Mac enjoys eating big salads with romaine, spinach, kale, and tomatoes with a nice dressing on top. This diet lets him eat all the food he wants without worrying about gaining excess weight since the diet is so low in fat. In terms of training, Mac will do some cardio training in the morning which would consist of cycling or running. As he approaches closer to a fight, Mac will do more sparring but most of his training and conditioning involves a lot of endurance and cardio training. This gives him a solid foundation for being a great fighter.
