Pure Madness FX160 in a 60 Trainer. I was very concerned when my clubmate asked me if his FX160 would fit his Calmato 60 Sports Trainer model. Actually it fitted right in without any modification (ground clearence may be a reason to replace the stock front gear). As I am flying a Laser 160 4-stroke V-twin in the Calmato 60 Sports (older version) I could not say he is crazy trying to fit this 2-stroke in his model but I was betting it will blow up (he is a "full throttle" addict). Actually it came out really fine but after the first flying day he had some tasks strengthening the structure of the model to withstand the force of the engine for a longer period of time. The new version of the Calmato is made with electric motors in mind and lacks some of the vibration and tourque resistance of a classic 90ies Trainer design. Nothing that cannot be fixed with some wood pieces and good quality epoxy at the right spots. Technical Data: Calmato 60 Sports Version 2 (more suitable for electro) O.S. Max FX160 with stock exhaust Graupner/Schulze 16x12 propeller Fuel: 10% Nitro 15% synth Ground RPM: Max 8400 Flight Idle: 2000 Rest is stock except a larger front wheel (it is still tight) Seems to be a real blast to fly. Sorry for the wind noise (50kmh wind). Comparison Videos with my Calmato and this one flying together may follow (if none of them blows up in the air befor the video session).
