Did you know? In 2013, only 37% of Australians had high trust in charities. Then, this figure decreased to only 24% of Australians in 2017. This shows a significant decline of trust in charities over recent years Resulting in fewer donations made by young Australians. So how can we help? Introducing DonateNOW. A web application designed to solve trust issues and motivate young Australians to donate to charities. DonateNow works through three main functions: FIND, DECIDE and NAVIGATE. The first function is FIND. DonateNow allows you to search for charity organisations that you like within the Greater Melbourne metropolitan area. To do that, simply choose your location and the charity cause in the search box and the web application will show you the search results accordingly. Simply clicking on learn more at a charity organisation will let you access to more detailed information about that charity. The second function is DECIDE. If you are unsure about which cause you're interested in clicking on "Charitable causes" from the menu, will lead you the data visualisations of how much donations and grants goes into each charity causes in your selected areas. Selecting each cause that has charity organisations in that location will show you detailed information on what types of activities that the organisations do in that category. These data could help you decide on which charity causes that needs your donations the most. Lastly, the third function is NAVIGATE. Once you found a charity of your choosing, You can open the map section on the charity detail page to find its location. By simply pressing on the "Get Directions" button, the web application will redirect you to your maps application on your smartphone and it will show you the best directions that you could take to visit the charity location. Through the three main functions of "Find", "Decide", and "Navigate"; DonateNow will help you to easily find charity organisations nearby, helps you to decide on which charities to donate, and lastly, it helps to navigate you to the location of the charities.
