The instrument cluster in my 1976 C3 Corvette Stingray includes: ▶ The Fuel gauge ▶ The Water Temperature gauge ▶ The Clock ▶ The Oil Pressure gauge ▶ The Battery (or ammeter) gauge Since I decided to replace the original gauge with a new one, which has up-to-date electronics, I was able to leave out the old resistor. The installation procedure of the new water temperature gauge—coolant gauge would be more appropriate—applies, for the most part, to all other gauges except for the clock, which has its own case versus the studs and nuts as the rest of the instruments. I hope this video gives you a general idea and a better understanding of what's involved in replacing the water temperature gauge in a C3 Corvette. Most Corvette parts vendors have these instruments available but check well before you place your order as prices are all over the map. And if you can find gauges made by ACDelco, even better, as ACDelco is a division of General Motors, the parent company of Corvette.
