My two drill presses have Bora Mobile bases, and I have liked how they work so far, but the jointer is heavier than both of the drill presses. So I researched and they have a super heavy duty one that has 5 inch wheels that can handle 1500 pounds...which should be fine since the jointer is only around 900. (with motor dust collection weight of the mobile base, etc) So I bought the Bora PM-3800 mobile base along with an extra purchase of the Bora 36" extension rail kit (PM-3036, just the rails) and since I want to make sure to try and isolate any vibration so the base doesnt act as a sound amplifier, I also bought a 4 pack of 'HEAVY DUTY ANTI VIBRATION ISOLATION PADS 4" X 4" X 7/8" RIBBED RUBBER WITH BLUE COMPOSITE FOAM"', all on amazon. The pads fit just fine, the extension rails let me run the length just fine, it all worked. To make the wooden base I used two pieces of 3/4" plywood from home depot, then used Titebond 3 wood glue to glue them together, that should increase the strength enough that the single leg side sitting on the plywood between the metal corners should not be a problem. If it becomes an issue I can always bolt a piece of 1/4" steel plate up underneath the plywood. But for now it should be fine.
