Emma Watkins is a graduate of The McDonald College and is best known for her role as the first female Wiggle in the children’s music group, The Wiggles. Singer, dancer, actress and filmmaker – Emma began her performance career at the age of 3 – performing ballet, Irish, hip-hop, tap and contemporary dance. After 11 years of performing with The Wiggles, she passed on the Yellow Skivvy to work on her own projects, one of which is a new children’s character called Emma Memma. Emma Memma and her friends navigate challenges and adventures using sign language, choreographed dance narratives, gestures, mimes, singing, speaking, listening, making crafts and drawing. Emma has been passionate about sign language and raising awareness of Australia’s Deaf community since she was young, having grown up with her best friend having two deaf brothers. She has a Diploma of Auslan (Australian Sign Language) from The Deaf Society NSW. Emma has also completed a Masters in Media Arts and Communication from UTS. She has become a role model for young children and has inspired many with her talent and dedication to entertaining and educating through music.
