A walk along Amanohashidate towards one of the Japan's three most scenic views. Kyoto, Miyazu.

Amanohashidate - one of Japan's Three Great Views - is a sandbar in the north of Kyoto prefecture, near the city of Miyazu. The long and narrow stretch of land divides the sea and the lagoon with the river estuary. More than 5000 pine trees grow on the sandbar, some of which stand there at least since the Edo period. Amanohashidate have cultural importance for japanese people, numerously mentioned in poetry and depicted in art. Filmed in July 2022. Directions: Driving here on car is the most convenient way to get here, but public transport is also available. From JR Kyoto station you may take Special Rapid Express "Hashidate", that is going straight to Amanohashidate station. Alternatively you can use only local trains and transfer in Ayabe and Nishi-Maizuru stations - it's half the price but can take up to 3.5 hours, so it isn't really advisable.
