Creamsicle Sherbet is a refreshing summer treat! It is a great recipe to let the kids help create. There is no stove work and the mixture can be tasted raw which makes it a lower stress recipe to have the kids help with. This recipe isn’t just for kids though, adults will also love the flavor. On hot summer days, being able to put together dessert with turning on the oven is an added bonus. Makes 8 servings 4 naval oranges 1 pt half and half 1 tsp vanilla 1 cup powdered sugar Cut each orange in half and juice. After all oranges are juiced, there should be about 2 cups of fresh orange juice. In the bowl of a mixer, pour in half and half. Mix over medium heat until doubled in size. Slowly stream in orange juice. Turn off the mixer, pour in powdered sugar, and start mixer on low speed. Add vanilla and then mix on medium speed for about 30 seconds until combined. Don’t forget to taste the mixture before putting it into your ice cream maker. Depending on the season, your oranges may vary in sweetness. You may need to add a bit more sugar to taste. Pour mixture into ice cream maker and follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Pour into a freezer-safe container and place in the freezer for at least 4 hours. Enjoy!
