Train & Video by Ted Doskaris Two USA Trains "G" 1/29 scale Heavyweight passenger cars are operated in a passenger train with other, different, car types on the outdoor layout. The layout is track powered by a Revolution base station controller. The train is representative of a Southern Pacific Valley Daylight era 1950s-60s. It is pulled by 2 Aristo-Craft E9 locos with 1 USA Trains ALCO PA loco coupled to an eclectic car mix comprising 11 total cars. All locos and cars are equipped with body mount Kadee centerset couplers (no up or down offsets). The USA Trains Heavyweight cars are equipped with 3-D printed CamPac Boxes (TM) fitted with couplers from the Kadee 907 kit in place of the low mounted factory couplers, albeit utilizing the factory metal bracket (aka, pedestal). The USAT streamliner cars are equipped with Kadee 906 coupler assemblies mounted via custom made spacers. The Aristo-Craft smoothside cars are lowered and equipped with Kadee 906 coupler assemblies mounted via spacers. The Aristo heavyweight head end cars are equipped with Kadee 907 coupler assemblies mounted via spacers.
