How To Capitalize Only The First Letter Of A Sentence In Excel Automatically

Learn to Capitalize Only the First Letter of a Sentence in Excel Automatically Changing the case of a sentence or word is crucial in Microsoft Excel. Microsoft word has built-in solution for this but in excel there is no built-in button or solution for this. You’ll have to solve this problem on your own. Like I said there are several ways to do this. First you can do it using formula like I’ve done here:    • How To Capitalize Only The First Letter Of...   But the problem in this method is that you’ll need a helper column for that. Let’s say you have sentences in column A which needs to be converted. You’ll have to write the formula in column B. But if you delete the column A the converted data in Column B also be deleted. So, in the next attempt I’ve used VBA to overcome this. Here is how:    • Capitalize Only the First Letter of a Sent...   Now the problem becomes you need to run the macro from Developer tab – Macro – Run. This is not convenient. So, in the next attempt I’ve created a custom button using shape and when you click that button it will capitalize the first letter of your sentence. I’ve created a VBA in a way so that it will convert the sentence as you type. It means you type your sentence in whatever case you like, but when you press enter the sentence will be converted in a way that only the first letter will be in uppercase and the rest of the sentence will be in lowercase. The procedure is as follows: Step 1: Right-click on the worksheet tab Step 2: Click on view code. Step 3: Paste the code.
