The centuries-old temple located at Manur near Neermarga in Mangaluru taluk has officially reclaimed its original identity as Sri Subraya Temple following Ashtamangala Prashna guidance. Earlier known as Anantha Padmanabha Subrahmanya Temple, historical records and stone inscriptions revealed that “Subraya Temple” was the authentic ancient name dating back nearly 800 years. Along with the renaming, the shrine underwent complete ritualistic renovation, reconstruction, and re-consecration as per traditional scriptures. The Brahmakalasha ceremony was performed in a grand spiritual atmosphere with hundreds of devotees participating. A unique highlight of this sacred place is a peacock that appears daily during pooja time, believed by devotees to be a divine sign. This revival is not just a name change—it represents restoration of heritage, faith, and Tulu Nadu’s deep spiritual legacy.
