00:00 – Intro 00:13 – Lenovo ThinkBook Modular AI PC concept 01:21 – External display on the lid 01:54 – Detachable second display 02:40 – Removable Bluetooth keyboard 03:03 – Dual‑screen laptop mode 04:15 – Modular ports system 06:14 – Specs & concept status 07:17 – Pros, cons & final thoughts At MWC 2026 in Barcelona, Lenovo showed off one of the most ambitious laptop concepts I’ve ever seen: the ThinkBook Modular AI PC. It looks like a normal 14‑inch laptop at first, but the entire system is built around Lenovo’s Magic Bay ecosystem, and almost every part of this machine can detach, reattach, or transform into something else. The lid includes a full secondary display that pops off and becomes an ultra‑thin standalone monitor with its own magnetic kickstand. The keyboard detaches as well, turning into a Bluetooth keyboard that can be used with the laptop in dual‑screen mode or with the external display on its own. You can even mount the second screen directly onto the laptop to create a stacked dual‑screen setup for travel or remote work. Lenovo also built modular ports into the chassis, letting you swap between USB‑A, USB‑C, and HDMI modules depending on what you need. Everything packs into a small carrying case, though the concept still has quirks like weaker magnets on the keyboard and the need to carry an extra cable for the second display. The unit shown here includes 32GB of RAM, 1TB of storage, Wi‑Fi 7, dual 14‑inch 120Hz panels, an 8MP camera, and a 33Wh battery powering the main system. Since this is a concept, none of these specs are final, and there’s no guarantee it will ever ship, but the idea of a modular, travel‑friendly dual‑screen workstation is genuinely exciting. If this ever becomes a real product, I could absolutely see it fitting into a remote‑work or travel setup. Would you carry a modular laptop like this, or is it too much?
