Cycling through the South of Italy - from Bari via Napoli to Roma

After a ferry ride from Dubrovnik we started the Italian chapter of our Sabbatical Tour 2021 in Bari. It was end of August and it was pretty hot when we saw a lot of the aftermath of wildfires when we cycled westwards. We crossed many tiny beautiful Italian villages and great nature but also saw a lot of trash thrown into the nature. The closer we got to Napoli the more we had to climb the mountains till we overcame the Apennino meridionale. After fighting the chaotic traffic in and around Napoli we spent some days in the city. When we left we followed the coastline of the Golfo di Gaeta northwise.
