States of matter for class 9th new syllabus 2025 This world is made up of matter and energy. Energy is non-material in nature. Anything other than energy which carries weight and occupies volume is called matter. Matter has four basic states; Solid, Liquid, Gas and Plasma. Q. Why these states are different from each other? Due to different strength of intermolecular forces Different arrangement of particles Different distance between the particles. Solid: Solids have a definite shape and a fixed volume. Particles in solids have strong intermolecular forces. Particles in solids have vibratory motion. Solids are incompressible. Solids have very high densities. Liquid: Liquids have indefinite shape and a fixed volume. Particles in liquids have significant intermolecular forces. Particles in liquids are mobile. Liquids are not easily compressible. Liquids have higher density than gases. Gas: Gases have indefinite shape and volume. Particles in gases have very weak intermolecular forces. Particles in liquids have random motion. Gases are easily compressible. Gases have very low density. Plasma: Plasma is composed of particles with very high kinetic energy. It exists in fluorescent tubes, lightning and welding arcs. Plasma can be considered as a partially ionized gas containing electrons, ions, photons, etc. Intermediate states: Matter also exits in intermediate states where liquid meets gas and liquid meets solid. e.g. supercritical fluids, liquid crystals and graphene. Exotic states: States of matter that are not commonly encountered are called exotic states of matter. E.g. bose einstein condensate, dark matter etc. Timestamps: 01:10| What is matter? 01:49| Why matter has different states? 03:15| Solid 04:02| Liquid 05:02| Gas 05:36| Plasma 06:30| Intermediate state of matter 07:06| Supercritical liquid 07:50| Liquid Crystals 08:32| Graphene 09:55| Exotic state of matter Song Credit: Song: Nine Lives Artist: Unicorn Heads Album: Ma3zofet Rad7 #statesofmatter #solid #liquid #gas #plasma #intermediatestatesofmatter #graphene #Liquidcrystals #supercriticalfluids #exoticstateofmatter #mstacademy #muhammadshoaibtalib #mstchiniot #chiniotacademy
