(28 Sep 2011) HEADLINE: Mass grave tied to Gadhafi regime found in Libya CAPTION: Libyan revolutionary authorities say they have discovered a mass grave containing the remains of 1,270 inmates killed by the regime of Moammar Gadhafi in a 1996 prison massacre. (Sept. 25) AS LIBYA'S NEW GOVERNMENT LOOKS FOR VICTIMS OF MOAMMAR GADHAFI'S CRUMBLING REGIME, THEY'VE MADE A GRIM DISCOVERY NEAR A PRISON IN TRIPOLI. THEY SAY THESE HUMAN REMAINS AND REMNANTS OF PRISON CLOTHING ARE SIGNS OF A MASSACRE THAT HAPPENED UNDER GADHAFI IN 1996 WHEN INMATES AT THE PRISON PROTESTED THE CONDITIONS THERE. AND THEY ESTIMATE THAT JUST UNDER13-HUNDRED INMATES DIED IN THE MASSACRE. "They were protesting against the situation in the prison, they were demanding the improvement of their condition there in the prison and the situation where they are staying in their rooms there. They promised them that they would solve the problem and they solved the problem by firing on them and in one night they killed one thousand, two hundred and seventy." THIS MAN SAYS HE LOST TWO BROTHERS IN THE ALLEGED MASSACRE. "The people who are responsible for this massacre should be arrested and brought in front of a judge and justice, and we can give now sure evidence to all the world about Moammar Gadhafi and how this dictator was leading this country and his people. A MILITARY SPOKESMAN SAYS AUTHORITIES FOUND THE SITE AFTER GETTING INFORMATION FROM WITNESSES AND FORMER SCURITY GUARDS WHO HAD BEEN CAPTURED AFTER TRIPOLII FELL NOW THE NEW GOVERNMENT WANTS HELP FROM INTERNATIONAL AUTHORITIES EXCAVATING AND IDENTIFYING THE REMAINS BECAUSE LIBYA'S NEW GOVERNMENT DOESN'T CURRENLTY HAVE ENOUGH EXPERTISE AND EQUIPMENT TO TEST THE DNA.
