According to Newari Hindu tradition, the Surya Darshan is a sacred rite of passage for young girls before their first menstruation. As noted by cultural scholars, this ceremony symbolizes the transition from childhood to adolescence. After being kept in a secluded room away from sunlight, the girl is finally presented to the Sun God (Surya), seeking his protection, vitality, and blessings for her journey into womanhood. We are filled with immense joy to have celebrated Priyensha Shrestha’s Surya Darshan on Saturday, Magh 17, 2082, at Chulesi Hotel, Parsa. A heartfelt thank you to all our kith and kin who traveled from near and far to grace this occasion. Your presence, prayers, and blessings have made this milestone truly unforgettable for Priyensha. Special thanks to our family and relatives who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this event a success. We also want to extend our deepest gratitude to our cameraman for capturing these wonderful memories and photos so beautifully. With love and blessings, Yam Kaji Shrestha (Grandfather) & Sapna Kumari Shrestha (Grandmother) Reyans Shrestha (Brother) Rohan (Father), Pooja (Mother), Sagar, Nikita, Samundra, and Binita Shrestha Music Credits This video features the following tracks.
