Invitations – “What’s Wrong With Me Baby” (DynoVoice) 1965

Written by Sandy Linzer and Denny Randell. Arranged by Charlie Calello and produced by Bob Crewe. A northern soul favorite and another excellent recording on Bob Crewe’s DynoVoice label. Sandy Linzer and Denny Randell got on board the previous year and went on to write such songs for the 4 Seasons as “Let’s Hang On” and “Working My Way Back To You”. The Invitations’ recording debut was “Hallelujah” / “Written On The Wall”, both Linzer-Randell compositions in 1965 on DynoVoice. “Hallelujah” bubbled under at #111. There followed two further 45s on DynoVoice, one of which was “What’s Wrong With Me Baby”. The group moved on to MGM, Diamond and then Silver Blue, where they had another bubbling under title, “The Say The Girl’s Crazy” in 1973.
