PACIFIC-BRAZIL: intensified induction chemo-IO in stage III NSCLC
Gerry Hanna, MBBCh, PhD, MRCP, FRCR, FRANZCR, Trinity College Dublin, Dublin, Ireland, explores the Phase II PACIFIC-BRAZIL study (NCT04230408), which assessed the efficacy and safety of an intensified regimen combining induction chemotherapy and durvalumab, followed by concurrent chemoradiotherapy and consolidation durvalumab in stage III non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Results demonstrated improved 12-month progression-free compared to historical controls. Despite promising efficacy, the trial observed significant grade ≥3 treatment-related adverse events, including pneumonitis and infections. This interview took place at the 2024 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) in San Diego, CA.
