Special thanks and shout outs to ‘Streamline Industries’ for completing/correcting the job for me. On the passenger side, I had [unknowingly] installed the new caliper upside down and wasn’t able to figure out why the brake hose wasn’t able to reach it [I had the bleeder valve on the caliper facing downwards instead of upwards so the hose wasn’t reaching the connection point] 0:00 - parts needed for conversion 0:21 - remove lug caps/lug nuts/wheel 1:07 - remove drum screw/drum 1:41 - remove wheel bearing cap 1:45 - remove drum springs/hardware 2:50 - remove wheel bearing bolt/wheel bearing 3:01 - remove 'drum' dust shield/dust shield bolts 3:31 - install new 'disc' dust shield/dust shield bolts 4:00 - install new wheel bearing/wheel bearing bolt/wheel bearing cap 4:36 - install 'disc' brake rotor/rotor screw 4:52 - install 'disc' brake caliper carrier/caliper bolts/brake pads 5:08 - install 'disc' brake caliper 5:40 - install new brake hose 6:00 - remove old drum hose/lines 6:34 - view of converted passenger side 6:47 - shout outs to 'Streamline Industries' other notes about this video: In the first clips that shows all the parts needed, I had a set of ‘used’ ebay brakes, but I ended up installing ‘new’ ones instead so I still have the used calipers if anyone wants them, but one of the holes for the caliper bolt might be cross threaded the 1st part of this video [drum removal] was filmed on the passenger side [right side] the 2nd part of this video [GTI rear disc brakes] was filmed on the drivers side [left side]
