This is the story of the lost villages of Islamabad that used to exist where Islamabad stands now. When Pakistan planned a capital in this area, there were 85 villages - some big and some small. Some of these villages survived like Saidpur, Nurpur Shahan, Golra Sharif and Shah Allah Ditta. Many other villages were demolished and their population was moved to other places. New Sectors of Islamabad emerged in place of these old villages. This video details the list of such villages that existed here and are no more. Watch it, to learn how this transformation of Islamabad took place in the decades of 60’s and 70’s and made Islamabad what it is today. इस्लामाबाद में जो गांव खो गए हैं Do you think Islamabad was built on an empty land? Think again. Before becoming the capital in the 1960s, Islamabad was home to over 85 ancient villages—some dating back to the Indus Valley Civilization. These villages, like Saidpur, Shah Allah Ditta, Golra Sharif, and Shakarparian, held centuries of spiritual, cultural, and historical significance. From Buddhist caves and Mughal-era sarais to temples linked with Ram and Sita's exile, this land was once rich in heritage. But as the government carved a modern, “planned” city out of these lands, entire communities were uprooted, villages were erased, and only names survived—buried under sectors, embassies, and boulevards. This gripping narrative reveals the hidden past of Islamabad, uncovering stories that history textbooks forgot and real estate maps ignore. This is not just a story of lost villages—it’s the vanishing identity of a civilization. The video explores how the sacred legacy of Sufi saints like Bari Imam and Pir Meher Ali Shah, the folklore of Princess Simli, and the mythic tales of Raja Rasalu were all swept away in the tide of development. Entire settlements like Kataria, Malpur, and Dhok Jeewan were sacrificed for modern blocks and commercial centers. Even today, Islamabad’s rapid real estate boom continues to consume the last traces of these once-thriving hamlets. Every inch of this city whispers a forgotten tale—if you walk through Islamabad’s polished streets, remember: beneath your feet lies a lost world. This documentary is a powerful, emotional journey into the buried soul of the capital—a must-watch for every Pakistani who wants to truly understand where Islamabad came from.
