When I saw they had a metal sweeper with a release, I had to try it. Initial tests......very nice!!! This response is worth the read!!! StilettoSniper I went out and purchased both units, brought them home and checked them out this weekend. Here is what I found to be the differences between the 22" and the 30" based on what is in the stores today (January 2021). It may help someone else in the future with the same question. Sounds like the difference between the 22" and the 30" models is about 8", right? And when looking at the website, it appears the height can be adjusted on the 22" model, but not on the 30" model. And it sounds like the 30" is much, much more powerful too. I bought both models and took them home to my shop to check it for myself. And let me tell you, I am glad I did, because what is stated on the website is misleading. First off, the 22" sweeper #98399 is 22" only when you measure it from the outside edge of one rubber wheel to the other. But the aluminum enclosure part of the sweeper that actually does the work on #98399 is only 17 3/4" long and contains four magnets. On the other hand, the 30" sweeper #93245 is 35" when you measure it from the outside edge of one rubber wheel to the other. And the aluminum box part of the sweeper that actually does the work on #93245 is 30" long and contains six magnets. So from the perspective of total physical length (important if you are trying to maneuver in tight places), #93245 is 13" longer than #983995. However, from the perspective of picking up as much material as fast as possible in open areas (like a wide driveway or long walkways), the magnetic sweep area provided by the aluminum body of #93245 is 12 1/4" wider than #93245 and contains 50% more magnets (6 vs. 4). Regarding the "9 lbs magnetic pull" of #98399 versus the "50 lbs. magnetic pull" of #93245, it is my opinion that these "magnetic pull" numbers is more marketing than anything else. While #93245 certainly contains more magnets and can pick up more material faster than #98399 due mainly to its larger size, it does not feel significantly more magnetically powerful when it actually picks up said material. And when clearing it after loading each unit with hundreds and hundreds of nuts and bolts, I did not feel that #93245 required 50 lbs. of effort on my part versus only 9 lbs for #98399. Some may feel differently, but I would not make my decision base on the "magnetic pull" figures at all. In terms of being able to adjust the height of the wheels, even though only #98399 mentions it on the website, I found that BOTH #98399 and #93245 have the same 7" wheels and BOTH have the ability to move each wheel axle up or down via a slot where the axle enters the aluminum box, allowing for adjustable ground clearance from 1"in. to 2-1/8". In other words, there is NO DIFFERENCE in height adjust-ability or wheel size between the two models. A minor difference I found is the handle length. The website states that there is a 6 1/2" difference in handle length between the two. This is simply not true with the sweepers that I purchased and measured, the difference is trivial (under 1") in my opinion. #93245 does have a nicer knob on the screw that tightens the upper portion of the handle to the lower when it is extended though. And the handle attaches to the aluminum box via two metric bolts on #93245 as compared to one bolt with a wing nut on #98399. I felt that the two bolt attachment was more robust than the single bolt. By the way, these sweepers only come with one washer for each wheel axle. I would recommend a washer on the inside and outside of each wheel to improve the steadiness, so think about adding two washers on your own. All in all, these are BOTH a good value for the money if you want a non-commercial-duty magnetic sweeper that won't break the bank (if you need a commercial unit, look into the AJC 070RMS, $160). It just depends whether or not you need a more compact sweeper to fit into tight places. If you do, the smaller #98399 might be perfect for you. Otherwise, if like me, you want to cover more open area faster, splurge for the extra $5 or so and get #93245. You will cover more ground much faster because #93245 is physically 70% larger and contains 50% more magnets.
