Download My Free Beginner’s Guide to Healthy Keto and Fasting 👉 https://drbrg.co/4b85MY0 Is chronic snacking causing your weight loss to stall? Find out how intermittent fasting can help. How to do Intermittent Fasting: https://bit.ly/2yxcwPx 0:00 Introduction: The biggest weight loss trap! 0:34 Snacking and obesity 1:00 Dieting and snacks 2:30 Snacking side effects 3:12 How to lose weight and quit snacking In this video, we’re going to talk about the biggest weight loss trap—snacking between meals! A 2011 report from the U.S. Department of Agriculture noted a “slight increase in calories, but a more than doubled spike in snacking since 1970.” Frequent snacking is one of the biggest root causes of obesity because our bodies were not designed to eat so frequently. Around 94% of the U.S. population snacks at least once per day. The average U.S. consumer eats 4 to 5 snacks per day and has 3 to 4 beverage snacks per day. When most people diet, they eat fewer calories which automatically increases hunger and cravings. This leads to more snacking, which causes massive insulin spikes. “Healthy snacking” is being promoted at astronomical levels. Global snack foods are expected to exceed 630 billion dollars by 2020. It doesn’t matter if a snack is “healthy” or not, snacking still spikes insulin. When your blood sugar is low, you’ll typically eat a snack to feel better. Snacks can improve your mood and even relieve some stress. Unfortunately, snacking causes your body to release large amounts of insulin which repeatedly drops your blood sugar, causing you to continue snacking. Intermittent fasting can help normalize your blood sugars, reduce insulin, and reduce the need for constant snacking.
