Anuradhapura was a journey back in time and one of the most peaceful trips I’ve ever experienced. As one of Sri Lanka’s ancient capitals, the city is filled with history, spirituality, and incredible architecture. Walking among the sacred ruins, massive stupas, and ancient monasteries made me truly appreciate the brilliance of early civilizations. Visiting Sri Maha Bodhi, the oldest documented living tree in the world, was a powerful and calming experience. The vast Ruwanwelisaya stupa stood tall and breathtaking, especially during sunset when the entire area glowed with devotion. Cycling around the heritage site allowed us to explore the city at a relaxed pace while enjoying the calm surroundings. The gentle chants, white-clad devotees, and quiet atmosphere made Anuradhapura feel deeply spiritual.
