From Halabja to the Iran Border | Memorial Visit & Dinner in the Mountains

In this video, I travel to Halabja, a city forever marked by the 1988 chemical attack that killed thousands of Kurdish civilians. At the Halabja Memorial Museum, I learned about the tragedy and paid respects to the victims, while also seeing Saddam-era military equipment preserved as part of the history. From there, the journey continued east toward the Iranian border, passing through the mountain town of Byara. As evening fell, we stopped at a local restaurant in the mountains, enjoying dinner surrounded by dramatic landscapes that straddle Iraq and Iran. This trip reflects both the painful history and enduring beauty of Iraqi Kurdistan, where memory, resilience, and daily life continue side by side.
