Driving Line is back out in Death Valley National Park for another episode of On the Trail, this time taking on the toughest trail the park has to offer: Lippincott Pass. Host Matt Moghaddam and friends take their Nitto-equipped Ford trucks on a full day through the park, from the heights of Lippincott Road to the famous Racetrack Playa and Teakettle Junction. With dangerous heights and heat, this trip in Death Valley, California isn’t one to do alone, but it’s still one well worth taking. 0:00 Intro in Death Valley 1:07 Previewing the Day from Lippincott to Racetrack Playa and Ubehebe Crater 2:30 Ford F150, Ford Ranger & Ford Raptor Breakdown 3:57 Starting out on the Trail 5:16 Going up Lippincott Road 8:49 Mining History & Mid-Day Impressions 11:42 Racetrack Playa 14:57 Teakettle Junction 15:48 Ubehebe Crater 16:50 End of the Day in Death Valley Lippincott Pass gets very narrow in parts, so wider trucks definitely need a spotter to get through, which was the case with some of the vehicles brought out by host Matt Moghaddam and Nitto Pit Crew members Geoff Tumang and Jonathan Hume. Like the last episode, this was an all-Ford truck affair, with Matt bringing his fully built APG ProRunner Ranger on 35-inch Nitto Ridge Grapplers, Geoff Tumang with his Ford F150 on 35-inch Nitto Trail Grapplers, and Jonathan Hume with his Ford Raptor on 37-inch Trail Grapplers. While the trek started with a drive up the narrow Lippincott Pass, that was only one part of the epic day they had out on the Death Valley off road trails. After successfully making it through, they went to see the famous Racetrack Playa, where rocks slide across the mud leaving eerie tracks behind them. To cap the day off, they also visited Teakettle Junction and Ubehebe Crater. This was one epic journey showing the wide variety of things there are to do when off roading Death Valley National Park.
