The Grupo de Pronta Intervenção (GPI) is a specialized unit of the Federal Police of Brazil, present in most states of the Federation, with the objective of acting in emergency and medium-risk situations at the local level, arrests of individuals considered dangerous, actions in slums, control of disturbances in demonstrations, seizure and occupation of buildings and others that demand an immediate response.
