This video shows many turned bowls, plates, and trays. It shows examples of turning spindles, newel posts, table columns, bed parts, and spiral stair columns. It also includes turnings of small inlaid cabinet knobs, and forms used for carving architectural elements for restoring details of the Vermont State House. Some forms were turned as a starting place for the sculpting of table bases and for lighting fixtures. The video shows turning “doughnut” rings for making railing elbows and easements. Several turnings are shown that were the basis for elaborate sculptures of flowers and wildlife. This video shows finished creations as well as many stages and processes of their design and construction. It shows how things were done, projects in progress, techniques and assemblies. The video shows photo sequences of sculptures while they were being formed.
