The latest installment of my syndrome series! This collection of videos highlights some of the major syndromes that affect the head and neck. Gardner Syndrome is a member of the Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP) Syndrome family. It is autosomal dominant inheritance with high penetrance and a considerable degree of spontaneous/de novo mutation. Most significantly, these patients have numerous polyps in the colon, which are precancerous. Half of these patients develop colon adenocarcinoma by age 30, and almost all by the 5th decade. Oral findings include osteomas and impacted teeth with or without supernumerary teeth. Other findings include benign skin tumors and ocular fundus/pigmented lesions.
