Today, we’re diving deep into kick drum tuning with a sound comparison of different tunings for both the batter head and resonant head. 🎧 In this video, we’re using a Yamaha Absolute Hybrid Maple 20x16 Bass Drum equipped with Remo Powerstroke 3 heads (batter and resonant) and a ported resonant head. No additional dampening was used beyond the light pre-dampening control rings built into the heads. We'll guide you through nine different tuning combinations, covering low, medium, and high settings for both the batter and resonant heads. In each combination, we'll test both bouncing and burying the beater, giving you 18 unique kick drum sounds to help you find your ideal tone!
