ASHA Webinar: Advocating for Substance Abuse Prevention Programs in Schools

Presented by Tia Kim, PhD, and Chudley Werch, PhD Join ASHA and two evidence-based program developers in this webinar to learn more about these programs (Second Step and SPORT Prevention Plus Wellness) and how their alignment with the National Health Education Standards (NHES) provides added value to prevention education in the classroom. The importance of alignment with the NHES will be discussed, followed by a brief overview of each program, and the standards with which they align. This information will allow participants to advocate for prevention education in their schools as an integrated part of a curriculum.
