In this video we explain why, for most people, we think it is best to buy mushroom spawn from an existing supplier instead of trying to make it yourself. However, for small amounts of spawn to grow mushrooms at home, there is a nice easy way to make your own low tech cardboard spawn using the stem butts from fresh Oyster mushrooms. We show you how to do this by mixing stem butts with shredded cardboard in a food container.
