𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦𝗙𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗛: 🇹🇹𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗲 𝗕𝗹𝗮𝘇𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝟳.𝟮𝟯, 𝘁𝗼𝗽𝘀 𝗘𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗰 TeamTAHDAW sprinter 🇹🇹𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗮 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗲 delivered a statement performance on Saturday at the Camperdown Classic, clocking a scorching 7.23 seconds to claim silver in the women’s 60 metres. The 22-year-old Trinidad and Tobago sprinter surged to the line ahead of Jamaican legend 🇯🇲𝗘𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘀𝗼𝗻-𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗵, who finished third in 7.24 in her first race back since a 2024 injury layoff. Jamaica’s 🇯🇲𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘆𝗮 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗺𝘀 took the win in 7.17. For Bascombe, the result continues a red-hot campaign. Competing out of Jamaica with Uptimum Performance Track Club in January, she posted times of 7.22 and 7.28 in Spanish Town. Her 7.22 personal best currently places her 31st on the World Athletics Top List and positions her for selection to the T&T team for the March 20–22 World Athletics Indoor Championships in Kujawy Pomorze, Poland. The qualifying standard for the women’s 60m at World Indoors is 7.20 seconds. While Bascombe narrowly missed the automatic mark, her 7.22 time places her among the provisionally qualified athletes in the 56-woman field. Fellow T&T sprinter 🇹🇹𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗵 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 has already secured the entry standard with a 7.19 clocking in South Carolina on Friday. Bascombe’s rise follows a strong 2025 outdoor season, highlighted by 100m gold and 4x100m silver at the Junior Pan American Games in Asunción, Paraguay—signalling that the young sprinter’s comeback is gathering serious momentum. 🎥 Video courtesy @SAVAGEMEDIATV and Entertainment / Camperdown Classic
