"Exploring Niger" is a 29 minute documentary about Niger, West Africa. Niger is about three times the size of California. It is one of the world's poorest countries, yet possesses a remarkably rich assortment of cultures, spectacular landscapes, and a broad diversity of Wildlife. From the lush gallery forests along the western banks of the Niger River to the remote Air Mountains, and the forbidding Sahara in the north, where the highest sand dunes in the world rise from the desert, Niger boasts a wide variety of expansive terrain. South of the desert, most of Niger is taken up by the Sahel, a vast dry savannah region with a 9-month hot and dry season, followed by a 3-month wet season.
