Visit us at www.droneexpeditions.co.za Our aim with this channel : "Drone expeditions " is to create a sense of adventure for the viewer by bringing you into the world of real time adventure. I think too many times ,you the viewer, are not thought of in that uploading a video clip on YouTube is merely an extension of an ego driven experience. I am trying with this channel to place myself in your position at all times while flying.– I do this by always asking myself when flying "would I be finding this interesting and captivating" From myself and the team ,we would welcome any suggestions, by subscribing to this channel, that would show your appreciation and support in leading us in the right direction. We believe that by joining our channel it could greatly enhance and improve your experience. This video was taken over Muizenberg surfers , with the aim of trying to capture the feeling of freedom, which surfing epitomizes. From a piloting point of view, it was one of the most difficult shoots as one had to be very away of the actual surfers i.e. one had to remain at a safe distance and height away from the surfer, so as not to interfere with his fun or for that matter get in any way too close where he would unsafe – I think this was achieved as in most scenes the surfers were not even aware they were being filmed. Just a cautionary point here, I wouldn't advocate any of the viewers to do the same as this requires many years of drone flying experience as well as a high degree of competence. Many drone pilots have lost a drone to the sea. From an editing point of view, it was difficult in the sense that one had to cut the clip at the exact right time when the wave started and then in the scene just at the right time when the surfer exited the wave - the sense of motion needed to coincide with the music which added to the challenge. Compliments to Mike the editor.
