The City of Kentwood and Kent Conservation District’s Invasive Species Strike Team present this video about how to identify and manage oriental bittersweet, an aggressive invasive species causing damage to trees in the Kentwood parks system and other communities. Trained residents may complete self-directed work to manage these invasive vines in Kentwood parks as long as they communicate with the Department of Public Works on where and when the work was completed, so staff can follow up if necessary. Questions may be directed to Kentwood Public Works Supervisor Jim Wolford at wolfordj@kentwood.us, 616.554.0817. Visit kentwood.us/volunteer to learn about City of Kentwood volunteer opportunities.
