Bonjour friends, It's the end of February in the French countryside on the Brittany coastline, days are rainy, I went picking mimosa in the nature before the end of the season and made a traditional Breton snack called "Kouign Crachin" a delicious warm bread with butter and sugar. Hope you will like this video, thanks so much for being here. 🌞🌧️ Ps : English is not my native language so I want to apologize for the mistakes I will surely make in the subtitles of this video Kouign-Crachin recipe : 400g flour 10g fresh yeast 150g water A pinch of salt 150g Salted butter 100g sugar Mix the fresh yeast in a little bit of warm water, then add the flour in a big bowl. Dig a hole in the flour and then add the water, the salt and the yeast. Knead the dough until it forms a smooth ball and let it rest for about 1 to 2 hours ( the dough have to double in size). Divide the dough in 8 little balls ( or 4 in you want bigger Kouign-crachin), add a good quantity of butter in a frying pan and cook each side of the Kouign-crachin for about ten minutes. Once it’s cooked, sprinkle with sugar and eat warm.
