Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a quick look at the Dexter Electric Brake assembly for the right hand or passenger side of your trailer. This is going to be a great way to replace a worn out brake assembly or maybe add on brakes to your trailer. The nice thing about electric brakes is that we don't have to worry about running hydraulic lines or putting on an actuator with our trailer like you would with having a hydraulic system. So this is a really user-friendly install. It's pretty easy to do. Really all you're going to do is just connect power and ground the back of this guy. And then you will have to get a trailer or a brake controller for your towing vehicle to make sure that you can actually operate these brakes, but they're pretty common. You might even have already have one. If you don't, we have you covered here at etrailer.com. We've got a lot of options for you.So let's take a closer look at this brake assembly and make sure it's the right fit for you. Again, this is for the passenger side or the right-hand side, and this works for the Alko Hayes axles and it works for 8,000 pound axles. The assembly itself measures 12 inches in diameter and is 3 and 3 8' inches wide. The brake shoes are chemically bonded so we don't have to worry about any kind of rivets causing any damage to our hub assembly. It will work with most standard hub and drum sub assemblies, including Dexter, Lippert or LCI, and also Alko Hayes. On the back you can see our four bolt pattern for attaching to that axle. It does come with the mounting hardware, those nuts there, and the backing plate is plastic. That's actually kind of an advantage though. That means that we never have to worry about this rusting out and that's just going to help protect the components on the inside there to make sure that they don't rust out and turn. And then we'll have our two wires to connect, one to power, one to ground, doesn't really matter which one. So again, pretty simple install as far as getting this in place. One last thing though, I want to mention, it does not come with the plugs for that backing plate. As you can see down here, there's those two little plugs. That's to get access to the adjustment wheel at the bottom. These are never adjust brakes, but whenever you first put them on, you do have to make an initial adjustment, but you never really need to worry about it after that. Those little holes at the back, you can get plugs to plug them up.They're sold separately, not really a huge deal if you don't want to get them, but that is an option. Just want to mention that for you. These again will work for your 8,000 pound axles. The wheel size that they fit is 16 inches or larger, they are made in the USA. And that really about does it for our look at the Dexter Electric Trailer Brake assembly. If you need the driver's side, that is also available here at etrailer.com and it's a good idea to get both sides at the same time, to make sure that the brakes wear evenly. You can also get this as a kit as well if you want to go that route. I hope this has been helpful in deciding if this is the right assembly for you. We do have a lot of other accessories for your trailer here at etrailer.com. So check them out. Thanks for watching..
