Theekkali is one of the few Malayalam colour movies, acted by the legendary actor Prem Nazeer. This movie is also amazing for it's double role visual magic in the late 80's. Other than the twisting story threads and action scenes, this movie is saying a very important subject. It's about the molding of an individual's character in child hood. We've seen criminals in society, whom we look with hatred. But we don't know the worse situations which they've faced and disasters in their lives. Most of them have lost their parents in early child hood and been brought up by criminals. Most of them are not opted that path deliberately, the circumstances have driven them to that pit. If we take a practical side from this context, we can realize some facts. A child's character is partially connected to the DNA of his parents, another part lies on with the people whom he or she interacts. Sounds simple right? but this simple matter is forgotten by many parents.A child's character is developed in the early ages, in this times we have to be more vigilant and alert. It does not mean that we we have to shut them indoors, but we have to be careful, we must check to whom our child is talking to, and what is his or her personal background. We have heard about the child abuse cases through media. In such cases the irresponsibility of parents are misused by the culprits. It's a social responsibility to give protection, good education & a wellness life to each and every child. Tomorrow's days are in the hands of this young juniors. So we have to do our best to avail the best living experience to the children. Irrespective of rich or poor, it's a must and should be persuaded without any discrimination. Rajendran & Surendran are identical twins. Their father, Prabhakaran was the Circle Inspector of Police. He was a straight forward man, and a very committed government servant. Shankar was his close friend who was a business man. In appearance he was a good gentleman, but in reality he was not. Drugs & smuggling were his so called 'Business'. Prabhakaran was unaware of this. One night Prabhakaran caught Shankar red handed while he was smuggling gold. Shankar begged him to spare, but Prabhakaran took him to jail. On that night, Shankar escaped from jail and reached Prabhakaran's home with his men. He killed Prabhakaran. But he missed the two children and their mother. Rajendran hided himself in the car of Shankar. Surendran & Mother ran to a distance place. Shankar found Rajendran, but instead of killing him, he decided to brought him up. Rajendran grown to be as a criminal, where as Surendran grown to be a good fellow. Now years are passed, Surendran is now the owner of a car work shop and living happily with his mother. On the other hand Rajendran is now the head of the criminal gang and master brain of Shankar. Shankar used Rajendran to take revenge on Prabhakaran, he named his as Babu. This the story line up. Geetha was the daughter of Thampi, who was a millionaire. She fall in love with Surendran. But since he was just a car mechanic he was not willing for the marriage. On the other hand , Sindhu, the daughter of Shankar also loved Rajendran. Obviously Shankar agreed for their marriage also. For him the revenge was almost over. When things were going like this, Rajendran was attacked & chased by police while they were heading back affter a robbery. he got injured also. With the power of destiny, he ran into the home of his own mother !. Even if they were identical twins, Rajendran's face has beard and some dark shade. So she could n't recognize her. But she felt her as his son. And she took care of him, she called doctors and took care of him. First time in lif eRajendran felt the love of a mother. And with great difficulty he returned to Shankar. But he had taken her photograph. Shankar accidentally saw it and realzed who she was. He cooked up a story and send Rajendran to kill his own mother. But fortunately he failed. Now movie is turning into more dramatic twists. Rajendran got in an accident and he lost his memory temporarily. Police requested the help of Surendran, to hunt down Shankar by disguising as Rajendran.
