Founded in 1754 under the name Changewater Village, nestled up against the Musconetcong River, just before its 100 year anniversary a series of brutal murders occurred in what is now Washington NJ. In 1843, The Castner Family was murdered on May 1st by the Parke Family and a few other locals. After the assailants were found guilty, they were hung in the neighboring Belvidere NJ, as it was the closest court house. They were then buried at an intersection in Washington, which has become a hub for tragedy and despair with many tragic accidents happening in the vicinity of the burial ground. Have the spirits of this murder been able to leave a profound impact on the area since their passing due to the flowing water current, which many speculate to be a way spirits channel their energy? Or has the tragic events left such a stain on the local land that the memories of the murders and ensuing accidents continuously replay as a residual haunting... The Keystone Paranormal Society is looking to shed light on this grim event that happen 181 years ago, as it has seemingly been buried by locals. KPS hopes to open these locations up to paranormal investigators and ease the vengeful spirits that seem to be lingering in the area. Is Changewater Village Haunted? Is Washington, New Jersey Haunted?
