The Top 30 songs with 5 extras by Ramsey Lewis, Chris Montez, the Sidekicks, Richard & The Young Lions and The Razor's Edge from the Boss 30 surveys of LA radio station KHJ for the weeks ending September 7, 14, 21 and 28. Unlike for my books, Ranking the ‘60s and Ranking the ‘70s (with Bill Carroll), I used a simple reverse ranking system, assigning 1 point to No. 30, 2 points to No. 29, etc. I kept it simple since we’re dealing with 4 weeks rather than a longer duration, like a year. Year Rank comes from KHJ's year-end countdown of its top songs of 1966, The Big 93. Decade Rank is from my book, Ranking the '60s: A Comprehensive Listing of the Top Songs and Acts from Pop's Golden Decade. More about me and RT60s here: https://ranking.rocks/the-60s. The Thumbnail: The 5 acts below "Sept. 1966" from left to right: Count Five, Jimmy Ruffin, The Association, the Supremes and the Four Tops.
