4.29.17 Chasing The MBRRE "Torrington Extra Photo Special".

On Saturday April 29th the Mass Bay Railroad Enthusiasts hosted an excursion at the Naugatuck Railroad. This excursion would include trackage that except for a few odd moves, had not seen revenue service since 2003. The motive power for this special train would be FL9 #2019 which had been fitted with it's Hancock air whistle, and had it's ditch lights removed just for the excursion. On the other end of the train was U23B #2203. Built as Conrail 2798, the 2203 would eventually find its new home at the Naugy in 2002 after 14 years of service on the Providence & Worcester-now Genesee and Wyoming-railroad. These two beautiful locomotives gave their all during this wonderful excursion, and it can all be seen in this video.
