Hong Kong Finds: One-of-a-Kind Pearl Pieces

We skipped the livestream in Hong Kong this year, but not the sourcing. At the March show, we spent our time walking the floor and buying. Looking for pieces that were different. Things we don’t normally see, and can’t easily replace. What came back is a small group of one-of-a-kind pearls and finished pieces. Many of these are unique. Once they’re gone, they’re gone. The strand shown here is one example. 8–9 mm freshwater pearls in natural “strange colors” that are almost never seen matched like this. These colors usually show up scattered in multicolor strands, not brought together into a full necklace. Jeremy hand-matched this strand from a large lot of loose pearls to create something that doesn’t really exist otherwise.
