The event to donate 1000 copies of the book DIVINE VERSES - ABHANG GATHA to Jagadguru Shri Sant Tukaram Maharaj Mandir Trust took place in Trustee HBP Shri Manik Maharaj's office. During the ceremony Manik Maharaj felicitated each participant with an Uparne and advised that we should wear this on the shoulder during meditation. It will help in concentration. The words inscribed on the upper day are श्री तुकोबाराय देवस्थान श्री क्षेत्र देहू. Manik Maharaj spoke for a few minutes and narrated stories about how Babasaheb Ambedkar used to take inspiration from Abhang Gatha during his gigantic task of preparation of the Constitution of India. Nyayamoorti Ranade also used to refer to Abhang Gatha whenever he had difficulty in deciding verdict in a case. He said that the English translations of the Gatha Abhang will guide the whole world in the same way that it has been guiding the Marathi population of India for the last 375 years. Manik Maharaj is such a simple and helpful person! He has told all the participants that anyone of us can come at anytime and just call him and he will be available to give us whatever help we need. One of the participants - Mrs Ambegaonkar has done a deep study of the Abhang Gatha and passed an examination from an Institute. Manik Maharaj has assured her that she can call him if she needs explanation of any Abhang of Maharaj at any time in future. Manik Maharaj has given full support to my translation work. I have been receiving lot of love from him ever since I met him a few years ago. He said in his speech that he will help the author of the book DIVINE VERSES - ABHANG GATHA, Deepak Phadnis in all the ways in his mission to translate the entire Tukaram Gatha into English and publish it in 15 volume of 300 Abhang each. Publication Ceremony of the first book - Volume 1 of translations of abhang nos. 1 to 300 will be taking place in Lokmanya Seva Sangh Vile Parle in Mumbai on 22nd March at 6 p.m. You are invited! We got an opportunity to have darshan of Vithoba Rakhumai, Jagadguru Tukaram Maharaj, we got delicious Bhojan Prasad, tea and a nice gift from Manik Maharaj.
