The term "benami" refers to that practice of holding property and assets in the name of one person for the benefit of other person. In this video, the New Rules made by Government to stop the benami transactions have been shown. This benami transaction act was made in 2017 but no rules were framed. Now the Government have made the rules for restraining the benami transaction in 2019. Many people have illegal properties and bank accounts in the name of other person so that they can save themselves from paying Tax. Now with these rules persons who have illegal property and bank accounts in the names of other persons so that will be punished. A new system of whistleblower have been introduce along with these rules. And with this whistleblower system any person who inform the government about the benami property or bank accounts will be rewarded with minimum 5% of the total property amount by the government. And if the amount of that benami property is higher than 50,00000 then the informer will get 3% of that property amount as well as 220,000 in addition as reward from the government. so overall this Benami Act and the rules made therein are much beneficial for the State as well as for the common people.
