Filmed before the pandemic The main way we can reduce our carbon footprint is by flying less and the coronavirus has shown us that a world without planes is possible. Before the pandemic, we made a sustainable guide to travelling Europe and found out it’s more fun without them anyway. In part two of the season finale of World Without Planes, VICE’s Bupe Bhima, Matt Shea and Neapolitan filmmaker, Victoria Fiore head to Sorbillo in Naples, to learn to make the best pizza in the world. Vicky then takes Bupe and Matt to the Fontanelle Cemetery, a giant crypt with 80,000 skulls which you can adopt, name and make a wish with - if your wish comes true you have to return and build your adopted skull a house. From one morbid ritual to another, Vicky takes Bupe & Matt to Naples Cathedral to witness the miracle of San Gennaro, a patron saint who Neapolitans pray to for protection from fires, earthquakes, plagues, droughts and the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius. San Gennaro’s blood, which is normally solidified, liquefies when there is a good year ahead for the climate.
