Uncle Pen is a composition by Bill Monroe, dedicated to his Uncle Pendleton. This fiddle lesson looks at the introductory melody, the vocal verse and chorus, the outro, and the tricky links which join the different sections. I look at how open string drones can improve the sound of the melody. I use sheet music on screen throughout, and a pdf of Uncle Pen is available free to subscribers (see below).
