The lokot-lokot is a roll of sweetness that is enjoyed in many ways. It is served during special Muslim occasions such as weddings and it is eaten as a snack that best complement a cup of coffee or tea. It is made of rice grounded into fine powder and blended with water and other ingredients. It is then poured into a strainer and rolled using two wooden spoons called gagawi and fried until golden brown. At first glance, visitors oftentimes mistook the lokot-lokot as fried noodles but as soon as they try it and discover it as delicious, they end up buying packs as pasalubong. Featured at Taluksangay, near the historical site of Taluksangay Mosque, the cradle of Islam faith in Zamboanga Peninsula
